Lake Bogoria
This is a soda lake, which is both long and shallow at about 60Km North of Nakuru and situated in the Great African Rift valley, at the foot of the towering Laikipia Escarpment.
This lake has scenic settings for which it’s popularly known and it stretches over an area of approximately 30 sq. km.
This lake provides an impressive sight to it’s visitors since it has furiously erupting hot springs, boiling pools and boiling geysers for which it’s famously known.
Flamingos and Pelicans in thousands of numbers are greatly attracted to the shores of Lake Bogoria because of the blue-green algae, which is present in plenty.

In November 1983, Lake Bogoria, one of the most beautiful and captivating Rift Valley lakes in Kenya, was declared a National Reserve.
Animal species like Warthogs, Dikdiks, Zebras, Gazelles, Buffalos, Impalas and Hyenas, find home in the Bogoria Park, which covers an area of 105 sq km and over.
The remaining Greater Kudus’ herds, which can easily be seen on the Eastern shores of Lake Bogoria, are being protected by Bogoria National park.
